Tender for the subject work were reissued on 05 Feb 2013 and received back on 05 Mar 2013. Tender has since been accepted.
The work for construction of residential complex consisting of 264 dwelling units at Silver Sand Island has commenced. It consists of two towers of Basement+Stilt+26 storey and one tower of stilt + 14 configuration, club house building, underground tanks and other ancillary structures. Salient features of the projects are as under:-
· Basement under two towers to accommodate car parking
· Rooftop helipads with chain link fencing on two towers to meet fire deptt guidelines
· Automatic fire fighting system
· Pergolas on top of towers as architectural feature.
· Separate Clubhouse
· Deep piles upto 55 m depth due to soil conditions are also required for boundary walls, biogas plant, sewage treatment plant and underground water tanks besides the main towers
· The internal roads, drains and electrical ducts are of RCC
· The top soil is to be replaced with good earth brought from outside.

* It is intimated that VAT in Kerala has now been increased by 1% to 14.5% during the budget presentation by Finance Minister of Kerala. This will have a net effect of increase of less than 1% on overall cost of project.
* Shifting of 11 KV HT overhead line crossing over AWHO land at Silver Sand Island, Kochi has been completed by KSEB.
* Technical brochures are under finalisation.
Kochi Metro Rail line is aligned to pass through Silver Sand Island with a Metro Station at Mobility Hub next door.
